DESCRIPTION
The dominating cause for failures in MLCCs is "flex cracks" leading to circuit failures. These failures may appear as nonfunctional circuits in the more benign cases, but as dead-shorts in catastrophic cases. KEMET has been working with our customers in order to alleviate this failure, and by developing designs to improve the capacitor's capability of surviving this failure. There are now three products being offered by KEMET to address this failure from solutions to eliminate the short-circuit capability, to improving the capability of the capacitors to handle the forces created with this failure. Learn more about KEMET's flex mitigation portfolio in TTI's QuikCast " information that's fast, easy, and free.
