DESCRIPTION
The adoption of power factor correction in switch mode power supplies is slowly increasing, driven by regulatory requirements and the increasing demand on local power supply networks. The functions of transition and continuous mode controllers along with practical details of a transition mode implementation are presented during this course. Fairchild's solutions for quasi resonant zero voltage switching for higher power are reviewed and will include a discussion of practical implementation details.
