DESCRIPTION
This course will cover the various kinds of switches, and their function. Important practical switch parameters are pointed out as well as some of the more popular switch configurations used in ICs. The various protection features incorporated in analog ICs will be discussed to acquaint you with their function and operation as well as fault modes. We will discuss the popular input control methods used in analog power IC switches. The course will describe regulator basics and the two types of linear regulators and the different types of switching regulators including Buck, Boost, and Buck/Boost converters. It also will explain duty cycle control and compare linear to switch mode regulators. Finally, this course will describe the Freescale Integrated Circuit (IC) power supply devices and discuss some of the applications where IC power supply components can be used.
