The lecture summarizes the studies of a wideband quadrature time-integrating acousto-optic processor designed at the Department of Theoretical Fundamentals of Radio Engineering of St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University. This processor, based on a two-dimensional quadrature radio-frequency time-integrating acousto-optic correlator (TIAOC), offers a compact solution to detecting and analyzing wideband spread-spectrum signals for variety of radar, navigation or communication applications. Discussed points include general structure of the processor, possible operating modes and corresponding post-detector processing algorithms, sensitivity, and dynamic range. Experimental results obtained in the UHF range are also presented.
