DESCRIPTION
This lecture will present the basic concepts of spread spectrum communications. The emphasis will be on the how and why, with a minimum of mathematical formulation. Topics to be covered include basic concepts in spread spectrum communication systems, frequency hop systems, and direct sequence pseudonoise (PN) systems. Succeeding lectures will cover hybrid systems, processing gain, code division multiple access (CDMA), and IS-95 CDMA.
