DESCRIPTION This lecture is the first of
four lectures covering the fundamentals of multirate systems. This
lecture describes the process of decreasing the sampling rate in
multirate systems, which includes downsampling, aliasing,
decimation, the characteristics of downsampling, noble identities,
and polyphase decimation.
PREREQUISITES Basic knowledge of digital signal processing.
INTENDED AUDIENCE Individuals working in different applications
of digital signal processing and communications, including students
at the graduate level.
