DESCRIPTION This lecture is an archive of TechOnLine's
Seminar on the overview of digital receivers, which was conducted
by Rodger Hosking of Pentek. This lecture will
cover how digital receivers replace analog counterparts in
communications systems, the principles of operation, critical
design factors (including resolution, decimation, and bandwidths),
how to choose the right digital receiver chipsto match your
application; and comparison of digital receiver chips from
Graychip, Analog Devices, and Harris.
This lecture will also discuss the latest on new digital receiver
interfaces including RACEway and FPDP, and Pentek's newest digital
receiver products along with real-life applications for direction
finding, satellite communication, signal tracking and more.
