This lecture
outlines the basic building blocks of a wireless communications
system if one were to build a system from "scratch". There are many
design issues to consider, and there is no single way to correctly
build a system. Each "block" of the system can be
tailored to fit the requirements. These requirements can be driven
by existing architectures, by the RF environment, the
characteristics of the data to be transmitted, or the quality of
service desired.
