DESCRIPTION
The student will learn the current digital cellular standards implemented in the U.S., basic components of a digital receiver, the challenges of the wireless environment, and the architecture required to implement an SDR. Various trade-offs between size, complexity and power will be presented.

PREREQUISITES
Basic communications engineering background and a familiarity with the cellular systems.

 

INTENDED AUDIENCE
The target audience for this lecture includes individuals requiring knowledge of basic digital receiver design for cellular systems. Design and development engineers working with communications equipment for cellular, wireless data, wireless local loop, and digital signal processing should also be interested.
