System Optimization Techniques for Peak SoC Performance
Overview:
The complexity of SoCs and the data that they process continues to increase in applications like video processing used in HDTVs and smart phones. With this ever-increasing complexity, "hand' optimization of the SoC is no longer sufficient or practical. Having the ability to reactively model application data and analyze the results are critical to IC and system designers to ensure their SoC meets or exceeds the performance requirements with the most efficient implementation. Sonics, Inc. and JEDA Technologies will demonstrate specific techniques using intelligent traffic generation and performance analysis tools to offer easy tuning and system optimization to deliver the highest SoC performance at the lowest possible gate count.

Who should attend:
IC, system and SoC designers working on next-generation silicon for advanced digital entertainment/mobile devices

Presenters:

Ravi Chopra
Application Engineer
Sonics, Inc.

Ravi Chopra is an applications engineer at Silicon Valley-based Sonics, Inc. He is responsible for both pre- and post-sales technical support activities within North America, and has a broad range of expertise in high-end DSP applications. Additionally, Chopra is a specialist in modeling SoC performance at the ESL level and is currently working with a number of leading semiconductor customers in this capacity. Prior to Sonics, he spent several years at Forte Design Systems serving as an expert in modeling customer designs for high-level ESL synthesis. Earlier in his career, Chopra worked at Cadence Design Systems as a digital verification engineer.

Andrea Kroll
VP of Marketing & Business Development
JEDA Technologies

Andrea Kroll is responsible for marketing and business development at JEDA. Before joining the company, Kroll was the marketing director for programmable solutions at CoWare, Inc. Dr. Kroll has more than nine years of industrial experience in system-level design as well as processor design for graphics, wireless, and networking systems. She worked for Create-it and Synopsys prior to joining CoWare. Andrea has both a master's degree and Ph.D. from Aachen University of Technology in Aachen Germany.
