Overview:
Mobile WiMAX™ and LTE share many concepts in their operation, but use different terms to describe them and apply some subtle variations. This webcast is intended to help anyone who is familiar with Mobile WiMAX and needs to gain an understanding of LTE operation. Topics cover the physical and MAC layers and a number of the major functions, including MIMO and the multi-antenna methods used.

Michael Lawton, Agilent Technologies
Michael Lawton is a Product Planning Engineer for the Mobile Broadband Operation within Agilent Technologies' Microwave Communications Division. This division is part of Agilent's Electronic Measurement Group. The Mobile Broadband Operation focuses on providing wireless test solutions for all phases in the product development lifecycle.
Michael began his career with HP/Agilent in 1992, working in Hewlett Packard Laboratories, Bristol (UK) working as a research engineer on a variety of wireless projects. In 1998, Michael moved to Ipswich and joined the Fiber Optic Product division where he held positions in both product and strategic marketing. In 2005 Michael moved to Edinburgh to take a marketing position within wireless test.
During his career Michael has been awarded 4 patents in the areas of wireless networking and fiber optic communications. He has also represented Agilent and served as chair for external groups developing both industry standards and multi-sourcing agreements.
Michael holds both a bachelor's degree (BEng) and a PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Bristol, UK.
