Overview: This Webcast is the first of two from Agilent which will introduce you to LTE - the 3GPP Long Term Evolution project. The history and timeline behind LTE will be covered and a context provided to position it against the alternative 3.9G technologies such as HSPA+ and WiMAXÂ. There will be a brief introduction to the new OFDM air interface as well as the complimentary changes being planned for the network system architecture evolution - or SAE. The first Webcast will conclude by explaining the tools that Agilent is developing to help the industry overcome the considerable design and verification challenges which LTE presents. The second Webcast, on October 2, 2007, will go into more detail of the air interface and show how Agilent's new simulation tools for LTE can be used to make informed choices about system design trade-offs early in the design cycle prior to testing real hardware using Agilent's leading range of LTE test equipment.

Giveaway: A $75 Amazon.com certificate draw for those who fill out the feedback form. Official Rules
Who should view this webcast: This webcast will be of interest to anyone interested in a primer on LTE, particularly engineers to high-level managers working across the ecosystem from chipset designers to service providers.
Presenter:
Moray Rumney
Moray Rumney obtained his BSc in Electronics from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh in 1984. He then joined Hewlett-Packard / Agilent Technologies and has worked for them for 23 years. During this time Moray has been involved in the architecture and design of the RF signal generators, signal analyzers and system simulators used in the cellular communications R&D and manufacturing test industries. Moray started his wireless standardization activities for HP in 1991 when he joined ETSI and contributed to the standardization of the GSM air interface and type approval tests. In 1999 he joined 3GPP and has been a significant contributor to the development of the W-CDMA air interface and corresponding conformance tests. This standardization work has evolved to incorporate HSDPA, HSUPA and now LTE. In addition to standards work Moray is a technology advisor within Agilent responsible for Agilent's next generation RF and system simulator products.
