Network Clock: How to Achieve Maximum System Up Time
Overview: Communications and data networks must maintain the highest standards in reliability, robustness, and system "up time." But what happens when the network clock temporarily loses its primary and/or secondary reference? In this in-depth seminar our clock expert will explore the technical implications of this very real system scenario, and discuss the incorporation of seamless reference switchover and holdover technology that maintains a stable, low-jitter, system clock during periods of switchover, and complete reference loss, conditions.

Presenter:
Paul Kern, Clock Applications Engineer, Analog Devices, Inc.
Paul is an Applications Engineer in the Clock and Signal Synthesis Group at the Analog Devices facility in Greensboro, NC. Paul earned a BSEE and MSEE from Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, CA., and has 15 years of industry experience. He has worked as both a Field Applications, and Factory Applications Engineer, in the communications and data storage IC industry.
