As the pace of change increases, managing complexity becomes more difficult and the chances of having problems increase. Occasionally, we may be surprised by too much complexity, which can be very hard to handle. With its frequency and the implications, we can benefit from managing complexity in its own right. Further since we have a wide range of tools we should consider how much they help or if they hinder us, making things worse. This paper will identify several types of complexity and will focus on one to consider our response, opportunities for improvement and what help good tools can give to manage the complexity.
