US-based start-up Bug Labs has finally revealed its "Lego style" BUGbase open source ARM-powered gadget kit, which will enable developers to build virtually anything using its electronic building blocks, or 'modular add-ons.' BUG is a collection of easy-to-use, open source hardware modules, each capable of producing one or more Web services. These modules snap together physically and the services connect together logically to enable users to easily build, program, and share innovative devices and applications. Each additional module increases the overall function of the BUG, and every combination unlocks virtually unlimited new potential devices.

This paper describes the new BUG technology, new features currently being developed, and how BUG enables free-spirited innovation and infinite customization of new creations.
