The DS2480B is a 1-Wire master (driver) with a universal asynchronous receiver/transmitter (UART) host interface. The driver is optimized for power delivery and supports overdrive speed in embedded applications. A special feature of the DS2480B is its flexible speed mode, which allows the designer to configure the 1-Wire timing at standard speed. This application note explains how to determine the optimum timing configuration settings and how to write the settings to the chip using Windows software. The note also compares the driver strength of the DS2480B to a resistive pullup.
