Massive performance gains offered by switched fabric interconnects (such as PCI-Express and RapidIO) are prompting developers to re-host legacy applications to platforms that can support switched fabrics. Yet re-hosting existing applications can be very difficult. This paper examines the use of Inter Processor Communications Libraries for streamlining this migration to switched fabrics.
