"WAP" (Wireless Application Protocol) is one of today's best-known Internet buzzwords. The World Wide Web is now said to have passed into the age of the World Wide Wireless Web. Cell phones are not mere Voice devices anymore; they are regarded as data communication tools, though they suffer from serious design limitations. This paper discusses the specifications, limitations, and the future of WAP technology.
