The 20-port Fujitsu MB8AA3020 switch chip supports applications with full non-blocking 10GbE bandwidth as well as features that are particularly well suited to a mix of network traffic types. These features include congestion management and VLAN virtualization. Additionally, the chip incorporates serial 10Gigabit PHYs for each of its 20 ports. This paper describes the 20-port switch chip and gives an overview of implementation opportunities.
