ExpressCard modules are thinner, faster, and lighter slide-in cards introduced by PCMCIA to replace existing PC card and CardBus modules, which are primarily used for functionality upgrades and expansion in the notebook computer aftermarket. Likewise, the ExpressCard module is initially intended to serve the notebook computer aftermarket.
