Over the years, battery technology has advanced to the point where most consumers no longer consider standby time or talk time to be an issue for their mobile phone. After all, assuming that most people charge their handset every night while they sleep, handset talk time of 4-5 hours is normally adequate. However, multimedia applications are now changing the battery requirements dramatically. It's hard to find a teenager that doesn't listen to music for extended periods every day. Video clips or even longer mobile television programming will drain the battery even faster.
