We present a currently deployed methodology for C-based design and synthesis of complex signal processing algorithms to FPGA. In this paper we discuss the state of the art for C-based electronic system level (ESL) design and behavioral synthesis. Design examples using popular ESL languages, SystemC (based on C++) and Handel-C (based on ANSI-C), will be presented in the workshop.
