Atheros Communications This paper examines the power consumption of various wireless local area network (WLAN) cards, spanning the major 802.11 standards. An accurate measure of the battery life impact from each WLAN card is made by measuring the power consumption of the complete laptop platform, and measuring how much the platform power changes when the WLAN card is used in various modes.
