Analog Devices

The very-high-speed digital subscriber-line (VDSL) technology makes possible delivery of information to speeds up to 52 Mb/s. The high-frequency band used (up to 20 MHz) raises many challenges not existing in the present DSLs, among them spectral allocation, transmission in a FEXT (far-end-crosstalk) noise environment, RF interference sources. Vladimir Friedman discusses the issues pertinent to the deployment of VDSL technology.
