With so many options and so much hype surrounding each, how do you decide? This class educates attendees on the different forms of mesh networking including: ZigBee 2006, ZigBee 2007, Wireless HART and point to multipoint. Class attendees learn the tradeoffs and comparisons of each as well as the types of applications that are appropriate for each. Attendees also learn selection criteria and considerations that make it easy to select the ideal mesh network for any application.

Joel Young CTO and Senior VP of Research and Development, Digi International
Joel Young has more than 15 years of experience in developing and managing data and voice communications. Joel joined Digi International as vice president of engineering in June 2000 and is currently the vice president of research and evelopment and chief technical officer. In his current role, Joel is responsible for research and development of all of Digi's core products. Prior to joining Digi, Joel was vice president of Sales and Marketing at Transcrypt International where he was responsible for sales, marketing, and product development for all information security products. During his tenure at Transcrypt, Joel also served as vice president of Product Development and vice president of Engineering where he was responsible for engineering, research and product development for wireless communications products, cellular telephony, wireline telephony and land mobile radio, data security and specialized digital radio products. Joel also served as district manager for AT&T Business Communications Services. Joel earned a BS in electrical engineering and an MS in computer science from the University of Southern California.
