DESCRIPTION
This class covers electromagnetic noise and how to design circuits and shielding to avoid it. It presents the sources of noise and the mechanisms for noise energy transmission and coupling; these mechanisms are conductive, inductive, capacitive, and electromagnetic. The class presents methods for shielding and filtering noise. The topics include grounding, shielding, electrostatic discharge (ESD), general diagnostics, layout of signal traces, cables, and enclosures.
