DESCRIPTION This presentation demonstrates how to significantly improve the performance of legacy 2mm hard metric backplanes (cPCI, VME64x, VITA31) up to 5Gb/s without expensive backplane redesign. You will be introduced to 3M MetPak High Speed Hard Metric (or HSHM) connectors that provide a cost-effective solution for reaching higher speed performance. This allows equipment vendors to leverage their current PCB designs and extend their product offering by taking advantage of new faster bus architectures.
