| Headquartered in San Jose, Calif., Acer America Corporation (AAC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Acer Group. AAC was established in 1977, and became a legal entity in 1984. It moved to its current campus in 1990 upon acquisition of Altos Computer, a leader in "industrial-strength" server solutions. In 1997, after a 12-year partnership with Texas Instruments (TI), AAC acquired TI's laptop business unit and the Extensa and TravelMate brand names. |
