Overview:
Embedded designs are becoming more complex with advances in performance, density, and power efficiency. Much of the advances in digital designs are a result of utilizing serial buses such as USB, Ethernet and I2C for chip-to-chip and system-to-system communication. However this also presents challenges in the area of digital system analysis and debug. With traditional test tools it's much more difficult to trigger on the event you're looking for, it can be nearly impossible to tell what information is present by just looking at the analog signal and it's an extremely time consuming and error prone process to have to manually decode a long period of bus activity to diagnose problems.

In this webinar you will learn:

  • Basics of digital system debug including techniques for properly triggering an oscilloscope and isolating infrequent events.
  • Gain insight into how to properly decode and search on serial and parallel buses such as USB and Ethernet
  • Latest tools for analyzing your design fast and efficiently

Who should attend: Embedded System Design Engineer, Hardware Design Engineers

Presenter:
Randy White, Technical Marketing Manager, Tektronix
Randy White is a Technical Marketing Manager at Tektronix. Randy has worked with various aspects of test and measurement solutions at Tektronix over the past few years. He has given seminars on many topics ranging from digital debug techniques to high-speed serial design testing. He holds a BSEE from Oregon State University in Corvallis.
