ISO26262/IEC61508 compliance are becoming de-facto standards for devices being used in automotive applications. This paper discusses the key design features implemented in Freescale's, 32-bit Qorivva microcontrollers like MPC574x. Such implementations help the end customer achieve safety compliance with the automotive (ISO26262)/industrial (IEC61508) standards. Later on we will also discuss Freescale's SafeAssure functional safety program which provides comprehensive support from Freescale to customers looking to achieve functional safety compliance.
