Touchscreen sizes have continued to grow year over year, gaining popularity first in Smartphones and then evolving into Tablets, Ultrabooks, Notebooks and All-In-One PCs. Manufacturers of mobile devices are trying to differentiate themselves through larger capacitive touchscreens and advanced features, such as stylus. Altering the physical and electrical properties of a touchscreen while trying to maintain a desirable user experience poses many challenges for capacitive touchscreen engineers. This white paper will discuss the major obstacles with large screens and passive stylus. It will also cover design techniques and available solutions that can be used to overcome these challenges.
