Intelligent devices are transforming the way we work, play, and live. They're the key to transforming the way businesses operate, differentiate themselves, and make money in the years ahead. Their "situational awareness" ability to perceive and respond to the environment around them makes them incredibly valuable for complex decision making in a broad range of industries, including energy, automotive, aviation, oil and gas, healthcare, and more. With billions of units generating more than $1 trillion in revenue today, the intelligent systems market is already big—and it's growing fast. Analysts predict the market will grow with a double-digit compound annual growth rate.

I must say I do agree. After seeing the recent Cisco commercial talking about how basically every device out there will now be communicating data orf some form. For example ambulances on the move will be be communicating with base hospitals, maybe evenspecific teams of a medical staff, in order to nearly instantaneous report a problem, put an ambulance in motion and have communicate a particular injury and set of symptoms so the doctors back at home base can start preparation for the amount of work they need to peform in life or death critical amounts of time. The potential is quite boundless if you keep thinking of applications for just the communication of the data about one item or set of circumstances, to another complex software system.
