Implementing Audio Codecs in 28-nm Mobile Multimedia Advanced SoCs
More InfoLess Info
This paper discusses the main system and technical challenges of integrating audio functionality in 28-nm mobile multimedia SoCs and techniques to address these challenges. These techniques include: taking advantage of Moore's Law and moving functionality to the digital domain; designing in flexibility for the multitude of clock rates; managing the performance trade-offs of reduced supply voltages; and exploring system partitioning outside of the SoC. By being aware of available options that can minimize system costs, designers will be able to find the sweet spot between cost, function, and performance, allowing them to embed an audio IP codec solution that helps their SoCs stand out from competition.
