Systems that require a high level of resolution often use sensors that generate small output voltages. As a primary challenge this type of sensor requires the implementation of a low-noise digitization system. Many sensor applications use bridge-type sensors. One of the most familiar applications is a weigh scale. These systems can be one of the most challenging measurement systems to design since they require accuracy, high resolution, and reading stability. This paper will cover these concepts by using a load-cell bridge sensor as the main example.
