This white paper details the use of Mindspeed large crosspoint switches, such as the M21131 or M21151, in DVI/HDMI (Digital Visual Interface/High-Definition Multimedia Interface) routing/switching applications.

Jitter and skew specifications are critical parameters of the M21131/51 devices in DVI and HDMI applications. DVI/HDMI applications use four sets of TMDS channels and skew is a critical parameter. The paper focuses on the skew among the sets of four channels. The paper also describes the measured jitter of the M21131/51 designs, and the testing and validation results confirm that the M21131/51 devices can be easily adopted for DVI/HDMI router/ switching applications.
