The wireless Personal Area Networking (PAN) of mobile devices including notebooks, PDAs, Smart Phones, Web-pads, headsets, and digital cameras is driving Bluetooth development. PAN provides synchronization of a notebook and a PDA, file transfer between a notebook and a digital camera, and voice communications between a Smart Phone and a cordless headset. This technical paper introduces Bluetooth's most compelling application, the always-on Internet access at homes, offices, and public locations through a Bluetooth Internet Access Point.
