New Technology for Secure Remote Access
For the last several years, the trend of using the Internet and encryption technologies for remote access connectivity has taken root, especially as companies either offer such connectivity as a new service or use it to replace dial-in facilities for remote access. By leveraging the ubiquity of Internet connectivity, while using encryption to ensure privacy of communications, organizations have been able to realize cost savings, while broadening the reach of internal computing resources to remote users.
Each technology approach has grown out of specific requirements and each has the potential to be a solution for an organization's remote access needs. It is important to review each technology in the context of a unique set of requirements to determine which will meet the needs best.
