In this article we show how generalized rate-monotonic analysis can be used to analyze UML based design architecture to predict response times. Our focus in the article is not on UML modeling itself, but on techniques for model analysis and synthesis. Likewise, given the space constraints, we only illustrate how this can be accomplished. The response time analysis depends on factors such as concurrency and scheduling model, scheduling parameters, shared resource model and arbitration policy.
