The Design and Implementation of the Middleware for Real-time Fault-tolerance
This paper describes the design and implementation of a middleware—specifically, a real-time fault-tolerance, message-passing service provider in an industrial control system. The selection of a fundamental method for fault-tolerance in a redundant LAN environment is discussed. The paper addresses the Concurrent Transmission Method for fault-tolerance in middleware and evaluates its performance. Other issues faced during design and implementation are also covered.
