To many, the term "network security" brings to mind VPN and crypto acceleration for IPSec. A broader view of security would include not just cryptographic protection of data in motion (which is not standing still) but also stronger authentication of users and systems, and hardening the network infrastructure against direct attacks. This class examines future embedded communication processor features which can allow system developers to scale system performance and harden systems while considering a broad spectrum of network security threats. This class covers Network Node Security Requirements. An architecture for acceleration and trust, Trust Mechanisms in Action, the Trusted Boot Process, Hypervisor and Platform MMU, SEC 4.0 Scalable performance Improved abstraction.
