The development of the the technology started in 2005, when founder Carsten Rhod Gregersen discovered a need for a direct peer to peer communication to a device, mounted behind a firewall. The idea was presented for the earlier CTO of Kirk Telecom, who joined the company together with Østjysk Innovation A/S and Ritzaus Bureau A/S.
